Colin Bruintjes is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and a fellow with the Chartered Professional Accountants of BC. He has over 40 years' experience in accounting.

He received his Diploma in Business Administration from the College of New Caledonia in Prince George in 1983. In 1989, he obtained his Certified General Accountant (CGA) designation, and started his own accounting firm, Colin T. Bruintjes, Inc (CTB), in October 1996.

He was the President of CGA-BC in 2003 and the Director of the Bulkley Valley Community Foundation from 2008 to 2014. He also serves as a volunteer on the Town of Smithers Advisory Planning Committee.

Colin was born and raised in the Bulkley Valley. He has three children and six grandchildren. In his time away from the office, he fishes, plays golf, and practices recreational construction.
